Mortal Shell II Proxima

Here is the Proxima poster I created for Mortal Shell II, which ended up becoming the cover art for the Revered Edition.
I’m insanely grateful to Vitaly Bulgarov https://www.artstation.com/vbulgarov for this opportunity. He’s one of the most powerful artists I know, truly a Legend, working with him is always so inspiring.
The character of Proxima was created by the incredible Dmitry Parkin https://www.artstation.com/dmitry_parkin, and it was an absolute pleasure getting to take his design and build this illustration around it.

I’ve known the team at Cold Symmetry for years now, and over that time we’ve become really good friends. I can definitely say these guys are some of the most creative and fearless people I know, the kind of team that isn’t afraid to take risks, push strange ideas further, and build something that has a real identity of its own.
What makes this one especially memorable to me is how it started. It was literally a conversation on a couch, drinking beer with guys at Dmitry Parkin’s place and talking about possibly collaborating on the project in the future.
A week later, Vitaly and I were already working on the ideas for the illustrations.
And somehow that couch conversation turned into an artwork that became one of the faces of Mortal Shell II, appearing as the cover art for the Revered Edition.
Couldn’t be more grateful to Vitaly, Dmitry, and the entire Cold Symmetry team for trusting me and letting me be a small part of this world.
Mortal Shell II releases August 20. Make sure to check it out, it’s truly a gem for Soulslike fans, and I can’t wait for everyone to finally experience what this team has been cooking.
